The Dutch Royal House consists out of countless people, yet the most prominant ones will be interpreted.
King Willem- Alexander van Oranje-Nassau
Firt of all, we will start with the Dutch King. Willem-Alexander was born on the 27th of April (Kingsday) in 1967. His mother, the previous Queen of the Netherlands princess Breatrix, gave birth to him in the Academic Hospital of Utrecht. Willem-Alexander was Beatrix' first son, which is why he automatically was the heir of the throne (after his dad Prince Claus). At the moment that his mom became the Queen of Holland, he was automatically appointed 'Prince of Oranje'. The name 'Willem' has been carried by three Dutch Kings before, which is why our current King is titled 'Willem IV'. He grew up in Baarn, in a castle named 'Kasteel Drakensteyn', accompanied by his two younger brothers Prince Friso and Constantijn. He studied History at the University of Leiden, the University where both his mother and his grandmother followed classes as well. During his time at University, he lived in a student house, just like many other Dutch students. In February 2002 he married the beautiful Queen Máxima, who's life will be described in the following paragrapgh. Together with Máxima, Willem-Alexander has three daughters; Catharina-Amalia, Alexia, and Ariane. The tasks of the King are not that essential for the Dutch policy-making as they were in the past. However, no law can ever be implemented without the signature of the King. Besides that, he has a significant role in the international relations of the Netherlands, as he and Queen Máxima welcome and visit innumerable heads of government/state from all over the globe. Secretaries of State are appointed by the King, and he chairs the meetings of an important Dutch council called the 'Raad van State'. In addition to that, he has a genuinely determining responsibility on 'Prinsjesdag', the third Tuesday of September. He has to read the 'Troonrede', which is a report in which the new plans of the government are presented. There does not exist a large power distance between the citizens and the King in the Netherlands. Inhabitants, especially youngsters, gave him the prejorative name 'Willy'. His birthday is celebrated with the national holiday Kingsday, on which flee markets are held and festivals take place all around the country.

Queen Máxima van Oranje-Nassau
Queen Máxima is the most popular member of the Royal House of the Netherlands, all inhabitants love her for het genirosity and warmth. Máxima is born in Buenos-Aires, Argentina. She is the first daughter of Jorge Zorreguieta, who is a well-known man in Argentina due to his position in the government. She studied Economics and subsequent to her graduation she moved to New York to fulfill some prominent positions at international banks. In 1999 she met Willem-Alexander with whom she spent a long weekend in Spain, where she introduced him to her parents. Since this moment, there were speculations about a love relationship in the media. In the following year she moved to Brussels for business, and in March 2001 Queen Beatrix announced her engagement with the Dutch Prince. On the 2nd of February 2002 they married, which preceded a lot of hassle before. This was caused by the position of her father during the so-called 'nasty war' in Argentina. By reason of this, he was not allowed to attend to the wedding. Together with Willem-Alexander, she has three daughters; Catharina-Amalia, Alexia, and Ariane. Queen Máxima mostly has ceremonial tasks, she is well-know for het hospitality to international leaders. Besides that, she is a Queen who really cares about the inhabitants of her state. She is committed to multiple projects involving poverty, education and equality. She is known as very kind, smart and her outfits are elegant in all occasions.
